In our fast-paced, cacophonous existence, finding moments of silence can seem like a daunting task. As a Reiki Master over three decades, I've witnessed many struggling with this challenge. The pressures of careers, families, and endless to-do lists can drown out the whisper of silence that your soul craves. Yet, it is in this silence that we discover clarity, peace and a deeper connection to ourselves.
Reiki, the ancient Japanese practice of energy healing, offers a unique pathway to cultivate and understand this inner silence. Let me walk you through how this beautiful practice can transform your noisy world into a haven of tranquility.
Understanding the Noise
Our modern lives are filled with constant noise - both external and internal. The endless stream of notifications, the hum of city life, and the pressure to always be on the go create a symphony of distraction. This noise extends to our minds, where worries, doubts, and plans for the future create a relentless chatter.
The Stillness Within

I like to recommend placing your left hand on your belly and your right hand on your heart. Allow the energy to flow through you, soothing your mind and spirit. - Mindful Breathing: Incorporate mindful breathing into your daily routine. Even a few minutes of focused breathing can quiet the mind and bring a sense of peace. Breathe in for the count of three, paying attention to fill your stomach with air and elevate it. Hold that breath for the count of three and release. You can experiment breathing in and holding your breath for different times or simply breathe in and out. It is important to just keep your thought on your breath and breathe!
